Moving Picture Rental Provides Production Services For Chief Productions

Moving Picture Rental Provides Production Services For Chief Productions

Moving Picture Rental, Miami’s one-stop-shop for film production, served as local South Florida production services for UK Lottery’s Lottoland spot.  Chief Productions of Manchester, England traveled to Miami in late 2016 with their directors Nate Camponi and Ben Tonge and Producer Colin Offland to shoot a humorous spot  “Lotto Evolved.”  Their Lottoland job was unique.  Their goal was to show Lottoland’s lottery evolution using the concept of human development. Achieving Client’s Goals With MPR’s support, Chief Productions filmed a chimpanzee (of Wolf of Wall Street fame!) evolving from a chimp into a Neanderthal through to the modern man.  So, to achieve the look, they rented an Alexa Mini, Cooke S4/i lenses, and lighting from Moving Picture Rental. Then Chief Productions also needed a crew, studio space for extensive walking scenes, plus a primate veterinarian to oversee any scenes shot with the Chimp. MPR arranged all of these components to client’s specifications — renting studio space at Great Southern Studios and hiring local gaffers, grips and a first AD, plus a qualified vet. As a result, the shoot finished on time and produced fantastic results for the client. Providing Production Services Moving Picture Rental provides a range of production services for out-of-town agencies and production companies beyond camera, gear and grip truck rental including finding and hiring experienced crews, obtaining permits, securing locations, renting studios and casting talent. Customer Testimonials Here’s what some of MPR’s clients have to say about our production services: “Just wanted to thank you for all the hard work and help to make Monday great. Watch this Super Creative Video & Production Services Challenge

Moving Picture Rental provided a “one stop shop” solution for Wrecking Ball’s recent set of Adobe’s commercials.  Wrecking Ball  Studio + Labs is a regular customer who relies on us to help them with various production services situations from simple to complex shots. On the ground experience and production services support David Wells, MPR President, offered his expertise and years of production services experience to find Juan Bofill, a stunt coordinator/rigger to fly their actor.  And with safety as a major concern, this was a critical task. Using a lift and harness system the actor felt safe and secure allowing him to achieve his best performance. Additionally, MPR hand-picked the entire crew — gaffer, grips, makeup, etc. and handled payroll. Essentially, Bob Donlon, Producer/Director and Joey Princz, Exec. Producer/Compositor were able to focus on the complex composite shots being captured with an Alexa Mini and Zeiss super speeds. A Grip & Lighting Package too! We also had a 5-ton grip and lighting package on set. The team used large HMI’s to light the wide green screen elements and small LED panels inside the plane. Big thanks Joey and Bob.  Until next time!       See the spots here! Window Washer: The Flight:   Bookmark it to Stumbleupon, Digg, and more! Hide...

Crew Services and Crew Hire to make your life easier!

Crew Services and Crew Hire to make your life easier!

There’s a recent trend in the film and television industry — crews are getting smaller, the deadlines are getting tighter and the jobs are being rewarded later than ever making for shorter preproduction schedules.   Overall time constraints as well as budgets are becoming ever more challenging.  Moving Picture Rental responds to this pain producers and production company owners are experiencing by offering a very unique service at our office’s in Fort Lauderdale, Miami and New York City.   We call it Moving Picture Crew Services. Crew Services are one of our strengths As a grip, lighting and camera rental house, crew services is one of our main differentiators.  Imagine being able to make one phone call and know that a first class crew of 2 to 25 will be handed to you on your first day of shooting.  In the past you had two choices for putting together a film crew.   Either you could call a Production Coordinator, Production Manager or Producer and pay them their day rate for 2 to 3 days, plus shoot days as well as a wrap day or two.  At $350 to $650 per day that’s a big expense for a medium size job. Or, you could go online and check the directories out there like productionhub.com and take your chances with your crew hire. Finding great crew is ridiculously time consuming and requires calls and emails at all hours of the day and night.  The best crew works an average of 12 hours on location and can often only get back to you at the beginning or the end of their day. For the past 10 years, Moving Picture Rental provides crew services for the South Florida and New York film and television markets.  We handle payroll, workman’s comp and all other tax needs.  We make all the deals and manage the nonsense that comes from dealing with people about money.  You are completely immune from anything that has a dollar sign attached to it with crew. Our keys to selecting crew: attitude and performance We’ve noticed during our many years in the  business that crew personalities do change.  Some crew “burn out” from TV series and feature film work or have other personal pressures and issues that influence their professionalism.   We track crews’ attitudes and performance and record it in our Filmmaker Pro database for the sole purpose of managing ‘crewpower’.  Discussions frequently occur in our office about who is at top of their game and whom we can positively recommend for your next production. Location work is our daily constant At Moving Picture Rental we work “on location” an average of 15 days per month with our core freelancers and full time employees...
