Behind the Scenes with Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull on location for “Live It Up”

Behind the Scenes with Jennifer Lopez and Pitbull on location for “Live It Up”

Moving Picture was recently contracted to provide Video Assist, Sound Playback, and Sound Mixers services for the Terrero Digital production of Jennifer Lopez ft. Pitbull “Live It Up”.  Live It Up was shot on location at Fort Lauderdale Beach and Ice Palace Studios in Miami.  While shooting at the beach, there seemed to be no end to the string of online, print, and television media trying to get a good picture or maybe a quote from the ever-popular duo. Live It Up is the third installment in Jennifer Lopez’s collaboration history with the Miami superstar, Pitbull.  Their prior works together, “On the Floor” in 2011 and “Dance Again” in 2012, were both well received by the music community and performed well commercially, we expect Live It Up to have similar results. Live It Up was also nominated for a 2013 MTV VMA award for “Best Choreography”.  Congratulations to Jennifer and Casper Smart, Choreographer for Live It Up.  Best of luck on Aug 25th when the winners are announced! We had a lot of fun working this set, there was an abundance of good energy throughout, and it showed in the performances.  Jennifer Lopez was a real trooper, and the end of an 18hr day-two was capped by a high-energy stage dance routine that made it all worthwhile.  At the end of it all we thought we had a good product that everyone would be proud of…and we certainly weren’t disappointed. Directed by Jesse Terrero, Lensed by DP Daniel Pearle ASC, B Unit Operator/Steadicam Mike McGowan, Gaffer Gonzalo Parra, Key Grip Jonathan Dugas, Miami Line Producer Claudia Rivas. Production Tip: Emailing Large Files

A frustrating moment for many of us, in the constantly mobile environment that is the film and television industry, is finding yourself in some remote location and needing to send or receive emails with over-sized attachments. Sometimes your editor has a roughcut that needs to be approved on set, the music video’s soundtrack has changed or the template you use to storyboard has gone missing – but with the limits imposed by your email provider, you can’t always get what you need. There are several programs available to help circumvent the process and help you distribute and receive the files quicker and safer. YouSendIt is one such program and it is incredibly useful and user friendly. With a much higher limit than most emails, YouSendIt can upload 2GB worth of data, package it so that any other email can receive it with no additional software needed on their end, and allow you to track who has opened your email to ensure its arrival. Add-ons to the service include password protection, setting an expiration date, and return-receipt emails. The program offers free trials, an online interface, and a variety of plans to suit your needs. Check them out at YouSendIt.com. There are several other similar products available on the web, all with different service options, so browse the competition and see which one works best for you. Keep in mind, some of these applications require that both the sender AND receiver download the program first, and each has their own size, security and time limits: Pando.com offers secure P2P file transfers quickly and easily, but requires an app to be downloaded by the sender AND the recipient. Sendthisfile.com provides secure transfer and storage with NO size limit, but offers NO virus scanning. Send6.com can send files up to 100MB with NO registration necessary. Tonsho.com can send 100MB directly to a recipient’s POP email account, but cannot send to a list. TransferBigFiles.com offers up to 1000MB support, but files are only available for 5 days. MailBigFile.com sends files up to 512MB (pro version offers more) to a single email account. To learn more, visit MovingPicture.com Bookmark it to Stumbleupon, Digg, and more! Hide...

TYE Studios and Moving Picture – Canon/Broncolor Event

Moving Picture recently had the pleasure of participating in the TYE Studios Canon/Broncolor event.  TYE owner Donna Peplin and her staff of seasoned professionals opened their doors to local, South Florida still photography enthusiasts for an informative day of equipment demonstrations and artistic discussion. With a full range of grip and lighting equipment available for rental, Moving Picture was there to demonstrate our broad selection of continuous lighting.  To provide hands-on experience with our gear, we constructed a full studio lighting setup for event-goers.  This lighting arrangement consisted of two Kino Flo Diva Lite 400 kits, an ARRI 150w Fresnel, a Litepanels 1×1 LED, a California Sunbounce, and a few C-stands and sandbags.  The full dimmer controls of the Kino Flo lights and Litepanels LED make this setup extremely versatile and unintimidating to jump into.  This photographer’s lighting package was also assembled with portability in mind – the entire setup will break down in ten minutes and fit into your average sedan. The day was a success thanks to the fantastic crew at TYE Studios, including Keary Cunningham, Julius Gregario, and Zack Hughes.  Special thanks to Donna Peplin for hosting this wonderful event!
